No Destination Is Out Of Reach With Quality Tire Care

With all of the incredible technology found in today’s cars, it’s easy to forget just how important some of the most basic parts of your vehicle are, like your tires. The quality and safety of your drive heavily depends on the state of your tires, so here are some steps you ensure they stay in great shape for as long as possible.

Rotate Your Tires Frequently

Rotating your tires is one of the most important things you can do to extend their lifespan. When you rotate your tires, you’re better ensuring even wear on each one. If you don’t have them rotated, you run the risk of uneven wear on the tread, which could negatively affect the alignment on your steering, the grip of your tires on the road, and more. Most experts recommend having them rotated every 5,000 - 8,000 miles.

Actively Monitor Your Tread Depth

Balding tires can be dangerous to drive on and are a key sign that your tires will need replaced soon. To measure tread depth, start from the top of the tread and measure down to the deepest groove. You can do this with a quarter to gauge. If you can see near the top of Washington’s head above the tread, which would be anywhere from 4/32 inch to 2/32 inch, that’s a good sign you need to buy new tires.

Frequently Fill Your Tires With Air As Needed

One of the easiest things you can do for tire care is to check the air pressure in your tires. Using a gauge that can usually be found at a local gas station at an air pump, you can find which tires are fuller than others and remedy the situation by making sure each is filled as evenly as possible. This ensures a smoother driving experience and lessens the chance for damaged tires.
